A warm welcome to author Ann Swann and her book,
All For Love!

AM: What inspired you to become a writer?

AS: I always wanted to write a story that I would like to read.

How did you decide on your book's genre?

The stories decide.  Some of my stuff is Middle Grade/Young Adult like The Phantom Series, but then All For Love is adult contemporary.

What is/are your favorite genre(s)?

I read anything and everything, but I love spooky…

it’s the hardest to write, though.  It can border on comedy if you’re not careful.

Are you currently reading anything?

I’m reading In the Tall Grass by Stephen King & Joe Hill.  But I just finished On the Island by Tracey Garvis Graves, and Wallflower in Bloom by Clare Cook.  I also just read the biography of a Texas cowpuncher named Teddy Blue.  The name of the book is We Pointed Them North.  It was all about the cattle drives of the 1800’s.  It was fascinating.

Who, or what, is the driving force that keeps you going?

Writing is just what I enjoy doing. Doesn’t matter if anyone reads it.  I’ve got stacks of stories and notebooks that will never see the light of day.  Writing keeps me half-way sane.

How do you balance your personal life with your writing career?

Very hit or miss.  I only work part time so that helps.  Usually, I wind up writing late into the night.

Tell us about your book.

All For Love (5 Prince Publishing) is the story of a woman who give up everything to be with the m an of her dreams only to discover that it just isn't in his nature to be true to her. It's a family drama depicting how easy it is to make the wrong decisioin in the heat of the moment.

My second release in The Phantom Series is The Phantom Student.  Actually, the publisher (Cool Well Press) included both The Phantom Pilot and The Phantom Student in this volume.  It just came out on Oct. 16th.  It is my spooky Middle Grade/YA series about two junior high school friends who have to solve a different ghostly mystery in each book.  This time, the mystery involves a boy with Tourette Syndrome (who is being bullied in school), and a young phantom who seems to be leading them all to the abandoned elementary school.  The mystery is solved on the night of the Halloween Dance.

What is your viewpoint on the current publishing trends?

I’m in a constant state of wonder.

Do you have any upcoming events or book promotions?

Yes. Beginning November 3rd, watch my blog www.annswann.blogspot.com for a chance to win a Kindle Fire.  There will be lots of chances to win.  We are a group of 11 authors and you can enter separately from each of our 11 blogs or websites.  It’s called Books-a-Fire.
