AM: Hello Emmie dear, welcome to your next stop on your Read Me Dead Blog Tour! Woohoo!!! *throws confetti in the air*
Ok, enough of all that *spits confetti out of her mouth* Lets get down to the nitty gritty: Read Me Dead. An awesome title with an awesome book cover. So spill it, what is your newest story about?
EB: Thank you! My new novel is about a young girl of only seventeen who witnessed her parents' murder seven years ago. She's bore a secret - a secret that could get her killed. And when that secret gets out, she's afraid that the murderer will find himself a new victim - her. The story is about Alexia's desire to be normal when she can never be normal with this secret.
AM: Wow, I couldn't even begin to imagine the trials Alexia will face! To harbor such a horrible secret and then to have the same murderer set on her path....I've got goosebumps, to say the least!
Most authors tend to draw on their personal experiences when writing a story so I have to ask, how did you come up with the story idea for Read Me Dead?
EB: Read Me Dead was a dream I had years ago. I envisioned this young girl who had told a secret to her best friends at a football game. However, in my dream I didn't know what that secret was. Eventually, I drew on the idea of a necklace being taken that was of significant importance to a character. So, I put a couple of ideas together and out came Read Me Dead. And as a note, it's not taken from real life experiences, just my over-active imagination. ;)
AM: Well it sounds like that over-active imagination of yours has churned out quite an intriguing story, I'm anxious to give it a read!
So tell us, when you aren't writing mystery and intrigue what do you like to do in your spare time?
EB: I spend most of my time with my nieces and nephew. They definitely keep me occupied! But I love reading, going out to the movies, and purse shopping!
AM: Purse shopping?! You're a woman after my own heart, no wonder we work so well together! lol Now that you've finished your awesome book what's next after Read Me Dead?
EB: Oh yes, that definitely helps in working together! Well, I'm working on a YA paranormal trilogy called, Knight's Academy. It's about a young girl who wants nothing more than to escape her life. She's adopted, a wandering soul, and when she gets a full ride to a private school, she gladly accepts it. There, she finds out mythical creatures are very real and she might be one herself. The first book is written and is in the editing process as we speak, and I'm hoping by early next year it'll be out. I was planning a sequel to my novella, but this YA paranormal story decided it had to be written!
AM: Wow, Knight's Academy sounds amazing! I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for it. You sound like a writer on a mission; a story is burning in your mind and there's not enough hours in the day to get it all out. I'm sure every writer can relate to that!
So, did you want to depart any last words before we wrap this shindig up?
EB: I would just like to thank everyone who has helped me on my blog tour. And to those who are excited to read Read Me Dead, thank you! I hope you enjoy the novel!
And a special thanks to you, Amy, for putting the time and hard work into this when I know that you have a new release coming up as well! Congratulations on that!
